The sensational incident of bomb threats once again in Jaipur has put the city in panic. Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital located on Ajmer Road received an threatening email on Thursday morning, which asked the hospital to bomb. The matter became more serious due to the mention of 26/11 Mumbai attack terrorist Ajmal Kasab in this email. As soon as the information of the threat was received, the hospital administration came into action and teams of Sadar police station, bomb disposal squad, dog squad, fire brigade and civil defense reached the spot. The hospital was evacuated and intense search operation was started throughout the campus.
Investigation started
The police started searching every corner of the hospital with the help of bomb disposal squad (BDDS) and dog squad. OPD, ward, bathroom, parking area and other suspicious places were thoroughly investigated. There was no explosive material or suspicious item in the initial search but the police continued the search operation as caution. Fire brigade and civil defense teams also appeared ready to deal with any emergency.
The cybercrime unit of Jaipur Police has started investigating threatened emails. Initial investigation revealed that this mail was probably sent via VPN or Proxy Server, which has tried to hide the identity of the center. Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph said that such threats are often sent by mischievous elements or cyber criminals to spread unrest. Still, no such threat can be taken lightly. Cyber experts and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) are trying to find out the origin and sender of this mail.
An atmosphere of fear in the hospital
There is an atmosphere of fear in ESIC Hospital employees and patients. As soon as the news of the threat spread, there was chaos in the patients. Many patients had to be taken to other hospitals in a hurry. Local people are also worried about this incident and are questioning the security system of the city. The police has appealed to the public to maintain peace and ignore rumors.
