New Delhi. A close aide of Himanshu alias Bhau gang has called a head constable of Delhi Police and asked for extortion of Rs 10 crore. A senior police officer said that the head constable posted in West Delhi received a phone call twice, after which a case was registered under Section 308 (4) (forcible recovery) at Vikaspuri police station on July 8. According to sources, this phone call was made by Sahil Ritoli, a close aide of Himanshu, in which the policeman was threatened that if he did not accept his demands, he and his family would be in danger.

Why only head constable?

The head constable was allegedly a friend of Manjit Ahlawat alias Dighal. Manjeet was murdered during a wedding in Rohtak in December 2024, as he refused to give extortion to Bhau gang. Manjit was a constable in Delhi Police before working in the field of finance. The source said, “During the phone call, the head constable allegedly described himself as a Delhi Police jawan, after which Ritoli demanded Rs 10 crore.”

Police filed a case when the audio went viral

Initially a complaint was lodged, but the case was not registered. As soon as the news of the incident spread, senior officials investigated the case, after which a case was officially registered on July 8 and the investigation is still going on. The police is trying to find out the number used to contact the head constable and considering providing security to it, given the seriousness of the danger. A spokesman for Haryana Police said that Himanshu is included in the list of highly wanted criminals of Rohtak, Jhajjar and Delhi Police.
