Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has finally come on the backfoot after the storm that arose to implement Hindi as a third language. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has canceled both the government orders (GRs) issued on 16 April and 17 June on Sunday. These orders were related to making Hindi mandatory under the Trishag policy in schools. The government has now announced to form a new committee to reconsider this disputed issue. It will be chaired by Dr. Narendra Jadhav, an educationist and former Rajya Sabha MP.
CM Fadnavis clearly stated that the allegations being made against the government are part of “wrong publicity”. He said, “We have not imposed Hindi. This decision Uddhav Thackeray The government had taken it. Now on changing the government, people forget the old decisions. ” He also taunted MNS chief Raj Thackeray and said, “Raj Thackeray should ask this question to Uddhav Thackeray.”
New committee is formed: Trishate policy will be reviewed again
Fadnavis said that now a new committee is being formed under the chairmanship of Dr. Narendra Jadhav, which will decide which class of Hindi should be implemented under the Tribhasha formula. What options children get and how to apply it. Jadhav is an experienced educationist and will be further decided based on his report.
There is a discussion in political circles that the government had to come on the backfoot recently due to the protests of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) and the MNS joint march and GR burning. The government announced the withdrawal of the ordinance even before the proposed anti -Hindi Mahadav on 5 July. From this the question arises whether the Thackeray brothers’ movement forced the government to bow down?
However, the government has tried to calm the agitators by canceling the GR. But the attitude of Shiv Sena and MNS is still sharp. Uddhav Thackeray has already said that “We are not against Hindi, but are against forcibly imposed.” Now we have to see that Proposed agitation on 5 July It is canceled or the government will have to give more clarification.
