Una A pickup filled with devotees fell 20 feet deep in a ditch on Thursday night near the famous religious site of North India in Una district of Himachal Pradesh. About 30 devotees of Amritsar were injured in the accident, who were admitted to Una Hospital with the help of local people. Later, a person died, on receiving information, the police also reached the spot and started investigation.
According to the information, all these devotees living in Majitha in Amritsar district of Punjab were made by making a double decker in a pickup vehicle. After returning home at night after taking a forehead at the Pirnigah temple, a pickup filled with devotees fell uncontrollably into a ditch 20 feet deep. There was a scream during the accident. About 30 devotees in the car were injured due to the pickup falling in the ditch, who were brought to the regional hospital with the help of local people, 108 ambulances and private buses. On being taken to the hospital, one devotee was declared dead, while two have been referred to PGI Chandigarh due to critical condition. The injured Sukhwinder Kaur and Gurmeet Kaur, who were brought to the regional hospital for treatment, said that around 30 devotees had come to visit the religious places by putting additional pits in the pickup car and their car fell uncontrollably near Pirnigah and fell into the ditch.
Dr. Sanjay Mankotia, Medical Superintendent of Regional Hospital in Una district, said that as soon as the accident was received, the team of doctors and paramedical staff was immediately alerted and called to the hospital. About 30 people injured in this accident were brought to the hospital, one of whom has been declared dead. Other devotees have also suffered a lot of injuries, many of whom have fractured and many injured have suffered deep head injuries. Treatment of all is going on.
