Scott Dixon won a stunning victory in 2025 to become the third separate winner, when Alex Palu reminded us that despite his AI Leevari he is human even after making a rare mistake.
Taking a bold to-stop strategy, the six-time Indycar World Champion pulled his car into the top area to pressurize his car Ganasi team partner.
While Palu looked untouchable after his third pitstop, a rare mistake by the leader saw him wide on the grass on turn nine, which allowed Dixon to squeeze Dixon in the final interval of the race.
Although Palu had a time between his teeth, Dixon excluded his team partner in every corner, especially in Kehol, left it, so that he could not make a good draft.
This is Dixon’s seventh win in Mid-Ohio and is the first after the long-beach 2024 Grand Prix.
Celebrating with his team once with his car, Scott said: “It was definitely a tough race. It was my fault in qualifying, but it was very fun to try to try and pull what we had and what we had.
“We still had to save fuel in all ways till the end, so it was definitely very tight but I did not see what happened [to Palou]We became a little lucky for everyone at 10, nine and eight with Kudos. This was a tremendous weekend. ,
Palu finished second behind Dixon, despite that there was almost innocent drive from lights to flags.
Initially, while fighting Lundgard from the line, Palu managed to interval the arrow behind him and was clearly visible from any of his rival from every pitstop.
While the Dixon had become a threat to the second-half of the race, it seemed that he all stopped him from being able to fight back.
Speaking after the race, Palu said: “ [It] Honestly, there was only one stupid mistake. My mistake from my side. Everyone did a wonderful job on the pit stops and strategies [and] We were really walking well, but just lost it a little on entry and then that kind of power could not work.
“It is useless, it hurts clearly [but] It is still a good day, but it hurts to lose like this. At least we got this in the team so that they could feel proud of their work. ,
Lundgard took the final place on the podium after a strong drive from the Danish driver despite losing the place overall from qualifying.
Also on a three-stop strategy, this is the first podium of Lundguard after barber.
Due to his decision sitting on the pitwall, he looked very hot not to wear cooling vest or do not pour water in the car, Lundgard commented: “This morning we were really trying to see if we could get fuel numbers for two-stop and there was a big debate in the race if we are going to do what we are going to do.
“I think once when you get out of there, you are not really clear who is on strategy and I would honestly say at some points that I did not even know Patato [O’Ward’] One was at two stops. We are happy so we are back to the podium. ,
Joseph Newguarden was once again a big loss from today’s race, who started the race hard before getting out of it.
Newgarden closed his back tires going to the first corner of the race and went sideways before going to the gravel trap.
Graham Rahal included him in the gravel trap as he got entangled in the incident, while Newgarden’s team partner Will Power was also involved in an incident, killing the other Penscay Driver, Scott McLaglin.
While McLaglin seemed to avoid unheard, Shakti damaged her underwing and put the pit into the pit under caution. Power was re -connected to the red wall tire to the 25th, but returned to the pits rapidly after catching his engine fire, which ended his race.
It left only McLaglin in the race of Penscay, which was absent from any action to the checker flag. Kiwi driver stood 23rd.
Once back in Pitlane, Newgarden said: “[It’s] It is difficult to get out of there. Hopefully we can fix the car, I don’t think there is a lot of damage. I want to get out, but you know, obviously we are out of this thing.
“It’s a sharp PPG car, want to support team Chevi and just stay in the mixture.”
The weekend adds to the poor season that Team Penscay has done this season after Indy 500.
Rahal managed to get out of the gravel trap and also put it on a pair of black wall tires and returned to the track in 26th. He finished 24th in total.
The only other caution that appeared on the track was when Christian Rasmusen had to draw his engine problems after suffering.
Santino Ferusi saw a strong weekend, before his aggressive driving put him in trouble once again, when he put the conore Daily into the grass.
The “clown” was labeled by the Daily Post-Ress on X, Feruky obtained a three-place position for the incident and handed it back to the situation.
This would not have dismissed the annoyance of the dail as Ferusi finished 16th, while the daily could bring the car home in the 19th.
On X, Daelie wrote: “This clown really drove himself away from the track, trying to ensure that he ruined me. Santino Ferusi Brilliant as usual.”
Yesterday’s hero, Kyffin Simpson managed to finish third in the initial half of the race, but a mysterious issue quickly dropped him to seventh position before coming under control again. In search of recovering, another road came from Simpson when he stayed in his second pitstop.
Simpson also ran out on the toes of one of his pit crews. Over the pitwall on the floor, the crew member put a brave face and gave the camera a thumb that he was fine.
Despite his best efforts to fix his race, Simpson finished only 10th.
Kyle Kirkwood took her conflicts from qualifying in the race and never seen Palu to go to. Only other race winners, but Palu are going to the mid-ohio, the race looked like a nail in the coffin for its championship, even with the mistake of Spaniel.
Starting from seventh, he completed the race at eighth place.
Last year’s mid-ohio race winner, Patio O’Ward also made a strong race for Arrow McLaren, which finished fifth after starting in 14th after finishing in Q1 Group One.
Following him through the old team of O’Ward, Felix Rousnakwist, followed him through the grid to take his Ozi Osbourne/Black Sabbath Liverid Mayor Shank to sixth after finishing 15th.
