Queen’s 2025: Katie Boulter makes winning start to grass-court season

Queen’s 2025: Katie Boulter makes winning start to grass-court season

Baulter felt one for grass in his doubles win along with Redukanu on Monday, but faced a tough challenge in Tomaljanovic in his first single match of the season on the surface.

After navigating a difficult grip, where she looked at the brake points before impressively loving, she missed the opportunity at 5-4 to exclude the set.

Instead, the boulter trusted his service to break the first set to get him out of trouble, to set a forehand winner in more than one hour.

But things became rapidly spiral for the boulter in set two because she struggled to find any rhythm, fell under a double brake and struggled to find answers.

And, after relying too much on a strong service in the first set, he doubled at the first point of the initial game in Dikkir, which laid the foundation to break the Tomaljanovic.

Now on one run of six matches without a win for the bowlter, the house crowd was flat and struggling to provide Britain with the boost he needed.

It came soon, however, the boulter immediately broke back and discovered some speed to win three consecutive games.

More and more-ING and Fro-in could neither catch their service, but the boulter eventually kept him calm at 4-4, serving before taking the match when Tomaljanovic’s forehand fell for a long time.

She will face Poland’s Magdelena Freach or Fifth seed Diana Schneider in the next round.
