The gunmen storm the Mexican Village Hall and shot the dead mayor

The gunmen killed the Mayor of the Mexican municipality in the latest fatal attack on local authorities.

Eyewitnesses said four armed people arrived on a motorcycle, a storm came in the village hall and set fire to the Mayor, Lilia Gama Garcia Soto and a local officer who was with Elli Garcia Ramirez in a meeting with him.

Two municipal police officers were also injured in the attack.

While the authorities are still investigating the potential motive for murder, local authorities are often targeted to fail to their bids by criminal gangs.

Garcia Soto is the second mayor to be killed in the state of Oxaca this year. In May, Santiago Mayor Amoltepec was shot dead in a ambush along with two other people in a car at the time of the attack.

The Governor of Oxaka condemned the latest murder, saying that the crime would not be unpounted.

However, the security forces are still looking for four gunmen who survived after the attack.

The office of the state prosecutor said that federal agents were deployed in the area to help them find them.

Violence against local politicians and people running to office in Mexico have been growing in recent years, spiking in run-up for last year’s general election.

Most attacks occurred in small cities where organized crime groups are particularly strong, but last month Two top colleagues of Mexico City Mayor were shot in the capital Violence increased which shocked the country.
