Each designer has its own warts, but this season the Christian Cyriano took the concept to another level. List your close friend (and list the former Project runway Co-artist) Heidi Clum to model its new collection, Syriano also based on all its new pieces on the star. “This idea of a collection was really interesting for me – I have never made a collection inspired by anyone,” Siriano said. “The whole idea was the life of the heidi, and all the things that she wore.”
When someone thinks of Heidi Clum, there is a possibility of a glamorous wardrobe. But for Syriano, it was all about making his bright red carpet-taiyar aesthetics a little more demor and refined. “I wanted things that felt romantic, but powerful,” Syriano said. “The silhouette that felt sculpture, yet there was movement.” For the last few sessions, the designer has been deliberately done about returning his designs, and the season continued in that direction.
For example, the opening look was his version of a classic black tuxido – with a cropped jacket that highlighted ABS. Another suiting look was completely made of black French lace – a sheer construction that exposes the skin below. For a designer known for dramatic and joy-day-wire, these were his clear efforts to be fun, although most of the black palette felt unusually sobbile for the cryano.
Meanwhile, the clum’s wheelhouse was more felt – not to mention the red carpet client of the ciriano. Consider a rosette details (one of the color appearance in color this season) with a naked and black silk-tulle wrapped gown, or light blue duche satin strapless gown. “It was difficult that Heidi was getting in color, she loves black,” Syriano said. “But a part of the fun was getting your collection to try something new – which we try to do with our customers.”
