Kerala News: The Kerala High Court has asked the state government what they are doing to enact a law against bad practices like black magic and sorcery. This question raised during the hearing of a petition, which was filed by an organization called Kerala Apparent Sangham. In 2022, this organization demanded the court to enact a law against such practices.
In his petition, the ratio Sangham said that in 2019, Justice (Retired) K.T. A detailed report was given by the Law Reforms Commission headed by Thomas. The report recommended Kerala Prevention and Eradication of Inhuman Evil Practices, Source and Black Magic Bill-2019 on the basis of social changes. The organization claims that the government has not yet taken any step in this direction.
The organization also demanded that superstition, black magic and content related to films, OTT platforms, TV serials and YouTube should be declared illegal. However, materials with good intentions and artistic values can be exempted from this.
This step of the court is important towards fixing accountability to the government. If this law is made, then practices like black magic and sorcery in Kerala may be stopped. This will promote scientific approach in the society. People are now waiting for the court’s decisions and the government’s affidavit.
