Rani’s Jacob Fernley’s run ended when Jiri Leheka defeated the British number two 7-5 6-2 in the quarter-finals.
The 23-year-old was playing in his first last-eight match of the ATP tour event after performing brilliantly against the French qualifier Corentin Mutet on Thursday.
But Czech World No. 30 Leheka proved to be much more for him on another hot day in West London.
After getting the first break of the match, things looked promising for Fernley, but World No. 60 left it immediately after three double defects.
More mistakes on service proved to be expensive again as Leheka received a double break to lead 6-5 before serving the set.
Leheka then continued to move into the second set, to get another double break and win the semi -finals and seal his place, where he will play the winner of a Friday match between British number one Jack Draper and American Brandon Nakashima.
