Bullets wireless Z3 is the latest neckband-style earbuds from the OnePlus. This product has been fundamentally unchanged for many years and is similar to its immediate predecessor, Bullet Wireless Z2 since 2022.
Bullets wireless Z3 only makes a slight improvement on Z2. You get a new generation Bluetooth connectivity along with better battery life. There are also some software additions in the form of 3D audio and EQ presets.
At INR 1,699, Bullets Wireless Z3 is a small budget and a basic entry-level product for someone with some but specific requirements. Let’s see how it performs.
design
Bullets wireless Z3 design is similar to Z2. It is a neckband style with a flexible band, chunky stalks and thin cables that end in earbuds. Earbuds have magnets on their back that attach them to each other and go down.
There are all physical controls on the left stalk, which handles playback, volume and other duties. Along with charging, there is also a USB-C port for a status LED.
The build quality is good for the price and the IP55 rating should ensure some protection from the elements. Earbuds are also quite comfortable and despite luxurious ear tips despite a low price.
Neckband-style earphone facility cannot be understood. You can revolve around your neck all day without taking them in your pockets. They are always there when you need them and just hang back when you don’t. You do not have to worry about losing them, even if someone is closed by mistake, unless you see them in some gym equipment, they make them great for workouts. And finally, you have a full set of physical buttons to control all features. You wonder why we left this facility in favor of TWS Earbuds.
Software and features
Bullets wireless Z3 are compatible with the Hemelodi app for Android and iOS devices. When combined with OnePlus device, similar characteristics are available within Bluetooth settings.
Compared to Z2, which was actually going on anything within the app, some options are available in the Z3. For the beginning, you get the OnePlus 3D audio feature, which simulates a sound effect around the stereo audio. I am not fond of such characteristics and like to listen to things because they had mastered, so it is not my cup of tea, but if you like it then it is there.
Bullets wireless Z3 also receive an EQ option, but only includes preset with any custom equalizer separated from adjustable basswave feature. It is a large upgrade on Z2, once again, literally there is no facility within the app, but it is still unnecessary gatekeeping as there is no cost related to enabling EQ as the facility is already present in the app and unlocked for more expensive products.
Audio settings you selected are saved on earbuds and are also applied when used with other devices, such as PCs.
Finally, you can also update the firmware on Z3, which was also not possible on Z2. Whether you will get any update for this product, this is a completely different case.
In addition, there is not much in this app. There is an earbuds control menu that shows all the tasks assigned to the physical button, but you cannot customize anything that makes sense because these are real buttons and not only gestures. To not mention, Bullets Wireless Z3 does not actually have a lot of characteristics that have not already been assigned to the button.

audio quality
With the model of the previous generation, the bullets wireless Z3 has a single 12.4 mm dynamic driver with SBC and AAC support.
Outside the box, the bullets wireless Z3 has a distinctive OnePlus tuning of the comic amount of bass on the ironically balanced preset. This is just too much and while it can recover with music, it actually becomes annoying with any kind of video or spoken word material.
Fortunately, the Baswave feature performs some miracles here because it not only converts the bass into heretical levels, but also stops it. Setting the slider to -4 or -5 relieves a lot of blots that hunts default tuning and appreciate the rest of the sound.
The mid-limit on these earbuds is civilized, but it is clearly tuned for high amounts of bass. It is a little ahead so that it does not drown in large amounts of bass, but its negative side is that when you lower the bass with the bass slider, the mid-range is slightly respected in low mids.
The triple performance on these is supernatural. There is a decent appearance in the upper MIDS and lower treble range, but it has some brightness and lack of air in top notes. Nevertheless, most of the popular music mastery to be bright, it should not be an issue.
Once I set the Baswave Slider to a proper level, I enjoyed myself much more sound than expected from such entry-level product. Although it is unfortunate that there is no custom EQ available within the app, if you download the third-party sound tuning app you should be able to get a very good sound of these earbuds.
Microphone
Bullets wireless Z3 has a very good microphone performance. Voices looked excellent over a natural time and when recorded in a calm environment, there was a lack of any noticeable digital artifacts. The sound quality of the sound also surprisingly in the noise environment because the voice is still completely audible.
The only issue with microphone performance is frequent background noise. The background is running and sometimes popping is going on, which can be distracted many times, given how ancient the sound is. This noise simply deteriorates when there is more ambient noise.
If the onePlus can get rid of popping noise with an update, Bullets Wireless Z3 will be a great option for those constantly calling on a budget.
noise cancellation
Bullets wireless Z3 does not have active noise cancellation. Ear suggestions will passively block some sound, which is enough in some cases once you play something. But this would not be enough if you find yourself on the train, flying, or other noise outdoor environment.
The second negative side of not having ANC is also not getting transparency mode. If you prefer to be more aware of the road while walking on a road or while waiting for a declaration, you will often find yourself out to listen to your surroundings.
Delay
Bullets wireless Z3 has good delayed performance. This was true on a smart device while passing through a separate audio app, but when combined with PC, which usually does not improve the delay.
relationship
Bullets Wireless Z3 had a great connection performance, with no audio dropout or disconnect when added with smartphones or PCs.
However, despite the move for Bluetooth 5.4, bullets wireless Z3 does not offer multi-device pairing, which is a shame. These earbuds also do not think that the button command is to quickly switch between the current and pre -coupled devices that were near the old bullet wireless products.
battery life
Bullet wireless Z3 is the major improvement battery life, which has gone from 30 hours to 36 hours.
In our tests, the bullets wireless Z3 played for an impressive 37 hours and 35-minute non-stop, which is a good a bit on the claimed figures.
OnePlus also claims that a 10 -minute charge will give you a 27 -hour battery life, which is above 20 hours on Z2. In our test, bullets wireless Z3 played for 28 hours and 18 minutes, which once again crosses the claimed figures.
This means that even if you use your earbuds, say, a few hours every day, you can get 2-3 weeks of battery life from a full charge. And if you had time for only 10 minutes of charge, you can still go about two weeks without charging.
When you add charge within the case, you may probably match that figure with a pair of tweles earbuds. But TWS Earbud Battery also undergoes quick aging due to frequent charge-discharge cycles, which they put. Meanwhile, even a regularly used pair of neckband earphones undergoes many years before the battery left the ghost as you rarely have to charge them.
conclusion
The OnePlus Bullets is as simple as a wireless audio product about the wireless Z3. You probably already have one who looks like and works similar to it. OnePlus is not reinforcing the wheel here; In fact, it is the same wheel that it was launched in 2022, but with deep walking to last long.
I know that the neckband style is a bit close for people these days who like the form at the function. But if you are a person who works with your hands throughout the day and wants something that is not needed to be molikoded, then it is comfortable and well made, it also has real physical buttons that can be used with gloves, every few hours for their small receptacle for age, and then it is still a product for a product.
Bullets wireless Z3 is not a large upgrade that will expect after all these years, but it is still a good design, comfort and a proper product with outstanding performance in battery life and microphone performance with audio quality. Hopefully, an ANC model is coming in the future, but if you can live without ANC and appreciate for a neckband life you cannot be wrong with it.
