The original story for LightSpre technology of on is tailor for Hollywood (Why Damon and Affleck script). All this began on Halloween several years ago, when Johannes Volchrt, senior lead of the innovation technology design for the Swiss brand, saw a warm glue gun to make a dress to her child. The focus on how quickly the liquid has become solid, while the Volcure surprised whether a similar principle could be used in the manufacture of shoes.
Later five years of tinkering, running has launched its lightspray technology, using a robot that sprays on a 1.5 km filament at a sole to upper for cloudbom strike racing shoes.
Initially, the shoe was available only to test prototypes for elite runners. But many high-profile finish- Helen Obiri’s 2024 Boston Marathon Win – The proof of the concept seemed very clear. Although released Cloudbom strike Last year, this is the first model to actually include a specially made upper used by Obiri in the marathon.
This “lightspray upper,”, which is connected by a robot on carbon-fiber and foam speedboard, weighs only 30 grams. With the aim of reducing production and introducing lightspray technology in other models, I tested Cloudbum Strike LS To find out if the shoe running $ 330 was worth propagating.
In short: On the pioneering lightspree technique of on on on 3 minutes can uplift a light and well -organized shoes, while reduced by 75% CO2 Emissions upper than a specific running shoes. In my test, I found that the cloudbom strike LS is a bit difficult to slip, and it does not offer very versatility outside the road. But it is still sharp, proprietor, and surprisingly light, which prefers the cloudbum strike LS Mary Go-Two, which runs on the pavement for summer.

Super lightweight at 183 grams -
A fast and proprietor ride -
More durable means of upper production

Little hard for people with big legs -
Not the most versatile shoe -
Also expensive for “super shoes”
Cloudboom strike LS on review
the struggle is real

During the 2025 Boston Marathon, Labs Pop-Up was a popular destination near the end of the race course, in which lines under lines are to see one of the two lightspray robots, which are currently making apps in American visitors, they can try on a cloudbom strike LS, and can expect a treadmill for a few minutes.
When I visited, I got to see a lot of people who were trying to squeeze the shoes. The stretch factor is necessarily limited to manufacture one-tukra upper which is light and durable. Since there is no lace to secure everything, the upper has to be quite strong in itself so that the foot can be prevented from slipping around.
So, like a ski boot, there is a certain degree conflict to achieve the previous part of the opening of small ankle, especially for people with large legs. I saw a curious examiner shaking and tried to get a shoe with an attempt.

The first time I tried on Cloudbom Strike LS, I expected a fight. And yes, there was a minor struggle, but it was not as bad as I thought it would happen.
It works a little hard to bring your leg there, but once it gets inside, provides a safe frame without being upper tight or restrictive. It felt safe, although I do not want to change the direction quickly or take it to the trails with it, given the lack of lateral support of the upper. For road activity, however, I have never experienced a light shoe. And with no pinch points or seams, the upper chaff-free.
Cloudbom Strike vs. Cloudbum Strike LS
Last year, the first recurrence of its prototype “Super Shoe” continues: Cloudbom strikeThe shoe offered the same design used by Obiri in the Boston marathon – but without the lightspre upper.
Regardless, that $ 280 running shoe received Positive review From GJ contributor Craig Randel. He said that the state -of -the -art kick meant “finally would rub the elbow with super shoe stallvarts like Nike, Adidas and Puma.”
This is of course even more true with the release of the same shoe, but is upgraded with lightspray technology. The main difference between these shoes is about streamlining the upper. Like a traditional sneaker, the upper of the cloudbum strike is made up of several materials.
Sneakers uppers often use fragments of 20–30 individual materials, and these materials require different production means. Weight – and therefore environmental effects – quickly connects.
The cloudbom strike weighs 219 grams, while the cloudbum has strikes LS watches in 183 grams. Although such a weight difference may not be noticeable on foot, it may have a major impact over long distances.
A thrilling ride

The cloudbum strike LS is a proponent shoe. As I ran away with one of my favorite local loops, I was not pushing it. Still i felt Pepe le puAs it bounces, passing other runners easily. Sure, it was not a race, but two layers of hyper-form cushioning with carbon fiber speedboard made for spring strides.
I appreciated that it was cushion without feeling highly squeezed, and I was surprised, after checking my matrix after the run, how much time I spent in four and five in heart rate zones. The run was not as strong as it was.
In another evening, I went out for a run after a long day of teaching, coaching and bike and I think it was worried about normal fatigue. My muscles were tired, but the shoe flame felt my strid in less attempt as much as I thought it would happen.
Despite not logging at a ton mile at that outing, it was good to run into something with such generous energy returns. The upper also offered me to breathe more than expected from the construction of one-tukra.
Pablo Irat, director of the footwear Emerging Technology, said that shoes have access. This weekend works well for both warriors and elite athletes, arguing.
“A Ferrari is extremely distinct,” Erit told me that when we were sitting in laboratories before the Boston Marathon. “Still a porsche can be enjoyed by a regular driver. This shoe is still stunning, even for runners who are not top level runners.”
Like a Porsche, Cloudbom Strike LS is expensive, with $ 330 pricing tag. ,
LightSpre’s future

The cloudbom strike LS is a test case of how an upper will woven together in 3 minutes by a robot. Now that the shoe is on the market, the implications behind the future use of lightspray technology are hypnotic. A robot can make 1,500 shoes a month.
Use of a material in the upper – compared with a specific upper which can be made of more than 11 materials – it is also significantly reduced2 Emission.
Currently ramping in robot production, and new lightspray drops are prescribed for July and September. The plan is to have a full portfolio of the lightspray with additional models leaving additional models next year.
Availability and conclusions

Cloudbom strike LS is difficult to keep in stock. It is listed as “for members” on the on website and states that “soon coming,” despite being available only in limited release.
If you can move your hands to a pair, you have to open $ 330. But many other “super shoes”, such as Nike alphabetis ($ 295) and Puma’s fast-R nitro ($ 300), are not comparatively deals. The high price point is also more tasty when you consider permanent mode of production.
At the end of the day, however, we judge our runners how they perform at the speed. And the speed with the cloudbum strike LS is very fast, and the ride is particularly pleasant. My pair of Cloudbom Strike LS have conducted well through spring and early summer. I have not paid attention to any stretching for upper or separation where it connects to the sole.
Cloudbom strike LS is not the most versatile shoe: it is not waterproof and does not perform well with Termac. But for a summer walk on the pavement, there is no doubt that it is the shoe for which I will reach.
