Bhendi is a vegetable that most people like very much. Usually, lady finger is prepared in a crisp and spicy manner in homes, but if you want to try something different and special, then Dahi Bhindi is a great option. The more special it tastes, the more nutrition is also rich. Curd okra especially children like it very much and it can be served on special occasions or also for guests.
Ingredients to make yogurt lady finger:
Okra – 1/2 kg
Onion (finely chopped) – 1
Ginger-Garlic Paste-1 T Spoon
Curd – 1 1/2 cup
Cumin – 1 tsp
Kasuri Methi – 1 T Spoon
Tejpatta – 1
Pod Cardamom – 2
Red chili powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 T Spoon
Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
Green coriander leaf (chopped) – 2 tablespoons
Oil – required
Salt – as per taste
Method of making yogurt lady finger:
First of all wash the lady finger thoroughly and wipe it with a cotton cloth and then cut it into thick pieces. Cut onion and green coriander and keep it aside. Now heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan and add ladyfinger to it and fry it till its color changes. When the lady finger becomes golden, take it out and keep it aside.
Now add 2 teaspoons of oil in the same pan and fry it with cumin seeds, kasoori fenugreek, bay leaves and cardamom. When the fragrance of spices starts coming, add onion and ginger-garlic paste and fry the onion till it becomes light golden. After this, add turmeric, red chili, coriander powder, cumin powder and garam masala and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Finally garnish with green coriander and serve hot lady finger with roti, paratha or rice. It is very wonderful in taste and everyone likes.
