Television actress and music video star Shefali Jariwala’s untimely death at 42 has sent shockwaves across the entertainment industry and social media. Fondly remembered for her breakout role in the iconic 2002 song ‘Kaanta Laga’, Shefali was admired for her fitness, lifestyle choices and spiritual beliefs. On June 27, the actress was rushed to a hospital by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, but was declared dead on arrival. Though initial reports mention a heart attack, the exact cause of death remains undetermined.
A Podcast Resurfaces After Her Death
Following her passing, an August 2024 episode of ‘Abraa ka Dabra Show’ hosted by actor Paras Chhabra has resurfaced, drawing attention to an eerie conversation about Shefali’s horoscope. In the now-viral video, Paras—who had shared screen time with Shefali in ‘Bigg Boss 13’—spoke about concerning planetary alignments in her birth chart.
“In your 8th house, Moon, Mercury and Ketu are positioned. The combination of Moon and Ketu is considered one of the worst. The 8th house also represents loss, sudden death, fame, hidden mysteries and matters related to tantra,” Chhabra explained during the episode.
He added, “For you, the presence of Moon and Ketu is already inauspicious, and now Mercury is also sitting with them. This points to anxiety and neurological problems.”
A Life of Discipline and Wellness
Despite such astrological concerns, Shefali had always maintained a health-conscious lifestyle. She often spoke about her dedication to fitness and credited meditation for helping her overcome epilepsy—a condition she was diagnosed with at age 15. She had reportedly been seizure-free for over two decades due to disciplined health routines and spiritual practices.
Paras Chhabra, in the same podcast, had advised Shefali to turn to spirituality for mental relief. “Go to the mountains whenever you feel anxious and stressed,” he said. “Visit Mata Rani temples and Jyotirlingas.”
Industry Mourns the Loss of a Beloved Star
On June 28, Shefali’s grieving husband, Parag Tyagi, performed her final rites at Oshiwara Crematorium. He requested the media and public to respect their privacy and “pray for her soul.” Several industry colleagues and friends, including Sunidhi Chauhan, Shehnaaz Gill and Rashami Desai, were seen arriving at her residence to offer condolences.
Shefali Jariwala’s legacy as the unforgettable “Kaanta Laga girl” will remain etched in the hearts of fans. But her sudden passing, and the eerie astrological warning that preceded it, has left many stunned and searching for answers.
