Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has announced a special discount for passengers who book a full fare ticket without taking advantage of any concession. Starting from 1 July, passengers traveling more than 150 km in MSRTC buses will get a discount of 15 percent on advance reservation.
The initiative by the Transport Department was announced on 1 June on the occasion of the 77th Foundation Day of MSRTC, which was made by Maharashtra Transport Minister and MSRTC President Pratap Sarynik. Its purpose is to encourage passengers to book their tickets in advance.
Exemption on all types of buses can be availed and will be available throughout the year, except the busy Diwali and summer holiday period.
Who is eligible for discount?
Passengers who buy full tickets through advance reservation for travel of more than 150 km are eligible. Concession holders are excluded from the proposal.

Ashadhi Ekadashi: Devotees traveling from Maharashtra to Pandarpur in regularly scheduled buses can benefit from this proposal if tickets are already booked.
Ganesh Festival: Passengers, especially for the festival, can avail 15% discount through initial reservation, to Konkan.
Exemption on e-Shivneri buses from Mumbai to Pune
Passengers of MSRTC’s premium e-Shivneri buses are working between Mumbai and Pune, taking maximum advantage of this scheme and booking full tickets and can avail maximum benefits in advance.
