Pib Fact Check: If your account is in State Bank of India (SBI) then you need to be careful. If you have recently received a message in which you have been asked to download the APK file in the name of SBI Rewards, then be alert. This is a cyber fraud, which can put your personal information and bank account in danger.
The viral message states, ‘SBI customer has got a reward point of Rs 9,980. These points will expire today. To redeem them, download the app by clicking on the link taken in the message. The Government of India press agency PIB has given information about this fraud through a tweet. The PIB has described this claim as completely fake and also made it clear that SBI never sends any APK file or link on SMS or WhatsApp.
