Before the onset of the session on 21 July, leaders of 24 opposition parties of the block held an online meeting and decided to raise eight major issues such as SC/STS, women and minorities’ Gaza, delimitation practice and “targeting” in the country, to raise eight major issues such as foreign policy “failure” and “atrocities”.
Addressing the media after the meeting, the Deputy Leader of the Congress in the Rajya Sabha Pramod Tiwari said that the opposition parties would hop that the Prime Minister would appear in Parliament and respond to the issues raised on the floor of the House, saying “Parliament is more important than traveling abroad”.
He also said that an in-tradition meeting of block leaders would be “soon” after today’s “successful and cordial” online meeting.

According to Tiwari, the leaders expressed serious concern over the “inaction” of the government to judge the terrorists and its “silence” regarding the Pahgam attack on the repeated claims made by US President Donald Trump about a ‘ceasefire’ about the enmity between India and Pakistan. The leaders also expressed concern over the special intense amendment of the electoral rolls in Bihar that “the voting rights of the people are threatened” in the state, he said. “There is an undeclared emergency that has been imposed and the rights of voting are in danger,” he said.
Tiwari also said that the leaders expressed concern over India’s foreign policy, claiming that it is the Prime Minister who is accountable to all in the country.
He said that some of our colleagues raised the issue of delimitation and “atrocities” against SC, ST, women and minorities.
“We have also decided that soon an India block meeting will be held physically,” he said that today’s online meeting was “very cordial and raised the concerns of 140 million people of the country”.
“We want Parliament to work so that we can increase issues and the government’s answers,” he said.
Sources close to Banerjee said that they raised the issue of head in Bihar, alleging that the BJP and the Election Commission are using it as “backdoor NRC”.
He said that the BJP is using “E Square” (E2) in its attack – “Ed for opposition leaders and EC for voters”.
The India Block parties discussed the issues to reach a consensus on the issues that they raised the government in the corner during the monsoon session of the Parliament starting on July 21 and conveyed the message of unity.
The opposition block meeting was held after a long gap, and 24 political parties, including Congress, TMC, DMK, RJD, SP, NCP-SP, Shiv Sena (UBT), JMM, CPI-M, CPI, CPI-ML, Foreward Block, Iml and Kerala Congress.
