There have been anti -immigration protests in dozens of towns and cities in Poland.
Most of the demonstrations attracted several hundred people or less on Saturday – but police speculated that around 3,000 in the southern city of Katovis attended the largest rally.
Protests were organized by far-flung political group Konfederacja, and another nationalist organization.
Confeederekja and opposition law and justice party politicians are warning about the flood of illegal migration in Poland – but official figures do not support their claims.
Confedereke’s co-chairman Crisisztof Bosak told the mob in the eastern city of Biallistok, “Without closing for illegal immigration to Poland, without starting a exile campaign, without leaving political purity … security will slowly deteriorate,” Konfedrekza co-head Krizzetof Bosak told the crowd in East City Biallistok.
One minute silence was held in some meetings in memory of a 24 -year -old Polish woman murdered in the central city of Torun.
In Capital Warsaw, rival rallies took place just at a distance of meters. There was no news of violence.
The police have since arrested a man from Venezuela.
Right -wing politicians claim that Poland is in danger of flooding by illegal migrants.
The immigration has increased in the last decade – but official figures suggest that the migration is less by this year compared to previous years.
Earlier this month, Poland introduced a check on its borders with Germany and Lithuania, when Berlin began to remove asylum seekers. Germany introduced its control over Polish and check boundaries in 2023.
