Tributes are being paid to two experienced and social media star Jake Larsen of the US World War, who is known online as ‘Papa Jake’, who died at the age of 102.

Larsen D-Day was one of the military troops of the Mitra countries, who attacked the Nazi German forces on the beaches of northern France in 1944, helping to end the WW2.

In later life, he adopted social media and obtained 1.2 million followers on Tiktok, where he shared stories to convince WW2 and his fallen colleagues.

Three weeks ago, he was co-with the Amy Award with British-Irani journalist Christian Amanpor to mark the 80th anniversary of last year as the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

His granddaughter Mackela Larsen said on Tikok that he died on July 17, but “went peacefully and even cracking the jokes at the end”.

“I am very grateful to share my father Jake with all of you. You meant the world for the world,” he told the followers of his story with Papa Jake Tikkok account.

“As Papa says, you love all the most,” said Mckela Larsen.

She asked her family to give secrecy, but she said that she would “continue sharing the stories of Papa Jake and keep her memory alive”.

When asked about the app, Jake Larsen said, “I didn’t even know what was Tiktok until my granddaughter sent me one day.”

He also served in the US Army in the fight for bulge in WW2.

Prior to the affiliated attack of France occupied, when he was 19 years old, he was stationed in Lurgan in Northern Ireland.

Larsen visited Normandi several times for the D-Day memorial in recent years.
