A massive internet outage is messing up Google Home, Spotify, and Snapchat

On Thursday afternoon, many people with smart home setups associated with Google Home / Nest, or who are trying to stream music on Spotify are coming empty. When I am trying to open a spotify website, I see “the audience is not allowed in JWT,” and opening the app also shows that it cannot connect. However, the first cashed music and podcasts are still playing, and both services are still working for some of our staff members.

We have seen pop up reports for other large cloud-based services on the detector and some error messages, such as Twitch, Snapchat, and Discord, but so far, it is not completely clear what is the cause of the problem or which platforms are actually affected.

Google Cloud Status Page Initially no issue was listed, but since then “many GCP products are experiencing the impact due to the identification and access management service issue,” there are problems with the list of server locations around the world to report.

The most recent note from Google at 3:09 pm says:

Our engineers have continued to reduce the issue and we are confirmed that the issue has been recovered in some places.

We do not have an ETA at full mitigation at this point.

We will provide an update up to Thursday, 2025-06-12 12:45 PDT with the current details

There may be another possible reason A outage listed by CloudflareWhich provides network infrastructure and content delivery services for many online platforms.

Focusing on the “broad cloudflaare service outage”, it has been reporting intermittent failures for the last half an hour that can definitely cause global issues for many websites and apps we like to use.

We are seeing that many services fail to stop. We are continuing its investigation and we will update this list as we assess the impact at the per-service level.

We have reached both Google and Cloudflare, and will update this article once with more information.
