Aaib Report Disclosure Regarding Pilot: AAIB, investigating Ahmedabad plane crash, has also found several important clues from the CCTV footage of the airport, which the agency has mentioned in its preliminary report.

In fact, after the Hasde, both were being speculated about the duty pressure, mental state and fatigue of the pilot. It was then said that it may have been a lapse of the pilot due to fatigue, which caused a plane crash. During the investigation, both the CCTV footage of the AAIB has been seen in the pilot plane. In this CCTV footage, both the pilots have not been seen in any kind of stress and fatigue. Referring to this in its report, AAIB has said that the two pilots were seen reaching the boarding gate at CCTV at 12:35 pm.

AAIB has reported in its report that Plane was to go from Ahmedabad to Gatewick (London) as Flight AI171. Plane’s scheduled departure was 1:10 pm. For this flight, pilots included an ATPL holder pilot-in-command (PIC), a CPL holder co-pilot and 10 cabin crew. Both the pilots were from Mumbai and reached Ahmedabad a day earlier. He took enough rest before the flight. Before the flight, both the pilots had a breath analyzer test and they were found to be fit for the flight. Subsequently, both proceeded to board the flight.
This reason for the accident mentioned in the preliminary report
AAIB has explained the reason for the plane crash in its report to the fuel control switch. Due to the fuel control switch off, the supply of fuel in both the engines of the plane stopped. The talks between the two pilots regarding the fuel control switch have also been mentioned in the report. The report states that Captain Sumit Sabharwal’s co-pilot Clive Kundan asks why the fuel control switch off. Got the answer- I did not. After this, now the question has started to arise whether the co-pilot accidentally turned off the switch or it happened due to some technical fault.
