As Shubman Gill was out of the field for a short time, Rishabh Pant played a role as acting captain and made a DRS call that forced the umpire to change his decision

The Indian team’s Vice Captain Rishabh Pant could not manage to contribute a lot with his bat in the first innings of the 2nd test against England at Edgbaston. However, he had great impact while being behind the wickets, and as the acting captain also when Shubman Gill was out of the ground. Pant played as the acting captain for a short time on 2 days, and then also played as the acting captain on day 3.
Apart from taking wickets, Rishabh Pant also took his team a wicket with his decision making skills as a leader. He helped Mohammad Siraj get a wicket without catching one behind the batsman. Shubman Gill was currently out of the field and Siraj hit Bridan Cars on the pad on the fifth ball of the 88th over. Pesar made a major appeal, in which the umpire rejected, the pants were convinced to dismiss and indicated to the review.
When the review was taken, Shubman Gill returned to the ground. Repley and Ball Tracking clearly showed the ball hitting the leg-stump. The umpire then changed its decision with the basic decision of Not Out to Out. Siraj was very happy and even a warm nervous with Gill.
