The 35 -year -old, a mason by profession and the father of two minor daughters, were on their way to London Air India Flight 171 To meet relatives, when it crashed in a medical college campus in Meghaninagar soon after flying from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport as one of the worst aviation disasters in recent times.
His father Laljibhai received a call from Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, which is affecting the DNA test and identification process on Friday evening about the identity of Anil’s body.
“We brought back the body to our original Dahisara (near Bhuj Town) and performed the last rites in the presence of all our relatives and well -wishers on Saturday. It took the authorities to identify Anil’s body for more than two weeks, but at the end we could all identify them peacefully and we said to him a dignified final farlet,” LALJIBHII said.
He said that in an attempt to stop the pain due to loss, the family performed a symbolic cremation on Thursday.
“For DNA testing, I first gave my sample. But a few days later we were told that another sample would be given. We went to Ahmedabad once again and this time my wife gave the sample. We were waiting for the results since then,” others were killed on the ground.
