Aiden Markram creates history- the first South African to secure this huge feat.

Aiden Markram came to open an innings for South Africa in his second innings and completed a century in the third session of the day.

South Africa and Australia are facing each other in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025. Sa was playing the fourth innings of the game at day 3, which ended on the pitch on Temba Bavuma and Eden Markram.

During his time on the field when the stumps were called, Captain Temba Bavuma was scoring 65 runs from 121 balls by 65 runs and Aiden Markram was 102 from 159 balls. With its Centurial knock, Aiden Marcram achieved a massive achievement.

Aiden Markram came to South Africa to open an innings with Ryan Ryan Ryan Ryan Ryan. He batted without any mistake and continued till his partner changed twice- first Ricelton, then Vian Mulder. Temba Bavuma then came to bat with Eden.

The pair bats downly and attacks when needed, gives each other appropriate time to rest at non-strayer ends, while also scoring runs for the team. Aiden Markram scored by the time of the time when the stumps were called at day 3.

Aiden Markram creates history:
Although a total of 14 batsmen have scored for centuries in the finals of ICC events, Aiden Marcram became the first South African batsman to achieve this feat.

Prior to Aiden Markram, the highest score by any South African batsman in the final of the ICC event was 61* by Hansey Kronje 61*.

Apart from being the first South African to score the century in the ICC final, Aiden Marcram is also the third batsman to score a century in the WTC final. Australia’s Steve Smith and Travis Head are two who did so before Eden Markram.

Talking about Aiden Markram’s outing on day 3, he scored 102 off 159 balls, which were with 11 fours. He also added 140 runs for the third wicket while playing with Temba Bavuma.
