While Dr. Andrews had definitely hung herself to step into a very controversial race in 2026, she was not quite estimated that her Launch video Will go viral immediately. Dr. Andrews is not a career politician. He had never considered running for office at any time less than a decade. As a self-known introvert, who had not stepped into the headlines before before, Dr. Andrews had to jump into activeness through joining his local chapter. The fact is that Dr. Andrews have gone for the Congress and have now established their eyes on the Senate, saying, it is evidence that it is possible for women to seize their power.
“There are a lot of women who are scared and disappointed and overwhelmed by the world situation, but they do not understand their agency,” she says. “They don’t know how to get off the edge and join it. I like to talk about the fact that I was a bin, a regular working mother, and then I took this huge jump into politics in a very dramatic way. When people learn about my story, I hope they can find their way in action.”
glamour Dr. Talked with Andrews about how she plans to make changes in her state and how she went from Advocate to candidate.
glamour: Your campaign-launch video has gone viral-as writing has been viewed more than half a million on Instagram and has been shared on social media. A week later, how are you feeling?
Dr. Annie Andrews: This is really heavy and incredibly encouraging because it tells me that my instinct to do so was the right instinct. That night, I started reading through some comments on Instagram and I was honestly brought to tears. I had moved so much with that support that I was meeting people across the country and honestly some people from other countries too.
I think what people were answering that the video was authentically me. I have done it with my media team. I did not objectively want to sound like every other politician because I am not a career politician. I wanted it to be mine, how I really feel, how much I am overwhelmed and disappointed, but that I still have this fight. And it is okay not taking yourself so seriously. It is okay to make jokes. It is okay to show my real life of carpooling and all that belongings. I think we hit a nerve with people who are still feeling lost after 2024 and looking for a direction, looking for leaders, they can believe in people whom they can believe. I am just so overwhelmed and grateful that our campaign received for the response.
