Reporting from Washington, Los Angeles and New York

Protests against President Donald Trump took place in a coordinated program called “No Kings” in towns and cities across the US.
The demonstrations were held to combat a rare military parade organized by Trump at Washington DC, and came after protests on their immigration policies in Los Angeles and in other places.
MPs, Sangh leaders and activists gave speeches to waving American flags in cities including New York, Philadelphia and Houston to crowd Tram.
The military parade on Saturday evening, Trump’s birthday was also on time to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the US Army. He warned that any protest in the parade would be found with “heavy force”.
The organizers said there were hundreds of protests with millions of participants.
In Philadelphia, people gathered in Love Park. “I think we need to protect our democracy,” Karen Van Tristian of the 61 -year -old nurse told The Associated Press.
He said that Trump’s staff cut in public health agencies was one of the reasons why she came out.
One of the large crowds was in Los Angeles, where the leaders and law enforcement during protests, sometimes violent, have been highly alert against a series of deportation.
Trump sent the state’s National Guard a week ago against the wishes of Governor Gavin Newsom and anger of local authorities.
On Saturday, Jose Azetla, a member of the Civil Rights Group The Brown Berets, told the BBC at Los Angeles that it was an immigration that brought him to the streets.
“It’s not harsh, it’s evil. You don’t separate families,” he said.
The federal building had conflicts between protesters and National Guard soldiers and tear gas was fired to disperse the crowd.
But a block or two distance, hundreds of protesters continued to march in peace.
Despite the largest part of protests since Trump was re -elected, referendum surveys indicate that his immigration policies are widely popular with the public.
Last week, a CBS/YouGov survey found that 54% of Americans approved their policy, which are illegally in the US – 46% rejected.
A multiplicity (42%) of Americans said that Trump’s program was making them safe and 53% said that he was giving priority to the exile of dangerous criminals.
The name of the protest refers to criticism the name “No Kings” that Trump has crossed the boundaries of President Shakti in his second term.
The President stood to salute as some of the thousands of uniformed soldiers participating in the parade, which was marched in the past with dozens of tanks and military vehicles along with a marching band.
He spoke briefly to thank the attendees for his service.
“Our soldiers never give up. Never surrender and never, never leave. They fight, fight, fight.
Some politicians and former military leaders have criticized the incident as an expensive pride project. According to the army, the price tag is between $ 25m and $ 45m (£ 18.4m to £ 33.2m).
But many of them told the BBC that for them it was about convincing the army, some of which had a deep connection.
When Melvin Graves returned from fighting in Vietnam, they did not find any parade, he said, it was as close as he would come to one.
Mr. Graves admitted that politics played a role in the event, but said: “It is about honoring these men and women who thanked him for his service.”

The final American military parade was organized in June 1991 by President George HW Bush, celebrating the US -led victory in the Gulf War.
A crowd of 200,000 people participated in the parade to please the giants, at the peak at 800,000, who saw the fireworks performance, the LA Times at that time.
The number was well down in Saturday’s incident, partially due to wet position and heavy rain forecast.
For small veterans, the parade was something he had never seen in service during his time.
Brian Angel, a former Infantrymain, a former Virginia, who served in the army between 2014 and 2017, including a term on the border between South and North Korea, told the BBC that he wanted to see it more.
“Every branch should get some kind of parade or recognized.”

Some experts looked at an uncomfortable rasa while marching through the capital among American soldiers, while soldiers were deployed by the President to deal with the protests in La.
Security expert Barbara Star told The BBC: “Due to the polarization of this immigration debate and the use of soldiers in the uniform carrying weapons, I think it overhangs this parade in a way that was probably not originally imagined by the army.”
Some of the “No Kings” demonstrations in the state of Minnesota were canceled by the organizers, when flying for the incident was found in the car of a person accused of shooting a state politician and her husband badly.
Governor Tim Walz urged people not to join the protests until the suspect was arrested, but thousands of people did not leave.
