There is a growing discussion in the astronomy community about a new object with a hyperbolic trajectory that is moving towards the internal solar system.
In early Wednesday, the European Space Agency confirmed that the object, which is temporarily known as the A11Pl3z, is actually the intersteler original.
“Astronomers would have just discovered the third intersteller object to pass through the solar system!” Agency operation account Shared on Bluesky“ESA’s planetary protector is observing the object, provisionally known as #A11Pl3Z, is currently using telescopes worldwide.”
Only identified recently, astronomers are hitting the new comments of the object, which is currently inside the orbit of Jupiter and eventually it will pass inside the orbit of Mars when creating its nearest approach to the Sun in this October. Astronomers are also looking at the old data whether the object is shown in the earlier sky surveys.
An engineer at the University of Catalina Sky Survey of Arizona, David Rankin, Recent estimates said The eccentricity of the object is about 6. A purely spherical orbit has an eccentricity value of 0, and anything above 1 is hyperbolic. Essentially, this is a very, very strong sign that the A11Pl3z was born outside the solar system.
