Meghalaya honeymoon murder case
A newlywed couple’s vacation in the serene hills of Meghalaya took a horrifying turn when the husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, was found dead—allegedly the victim of a murder masterminded by his own wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi.
As per reports from Meghalaya Police, Sonam is accused of hiring contract killers to murder Raja during their honeymoon in Sohra (formerly Cherrapunji), a popular tourist destination in the state. The shocking crime unfolded just days after their May 11 wedding in Indore.
Authorities say the couple had checked out of a homestay in Nongriat village on May 23 and were reported missing shortly after. Raja’s body was discovered on June 2, nearly 20 km away from the homestay. Sonam, meanwhile, vanished from the scene and was later found in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. She surrendered at the Nandganj police station following the arrest of three individuals — Akash Rajput (19), Vishal Singh Chauhan (22), and Raj Singh Kushwaha (21) — believed to have carried out the killing on her instructions.
The police claim Sonam had carefully planned the murder in advance. However, her family has vehemently denied the allegations.
