Several Prominent Trade Unions, Along With Farmer and Rural Labor Organizations, Have Jointly Called for a Nationwide Strike or Bharat Bandh on July 9, 2025. The call to AT ACTION IS ACTION IS ACH Describe as Government Policies that Favor Corporations at the experts of Workers and Farmers.

Organizers of the protest claim that the response will be massive, with participation expected from both formal and informal sectors account the country.

Banking services expected to function on July 9, 2025

Despite the scale of the planned protest, banks are expected to remain open on July 9, unless the day is declared a holiday in the reserve bank of India’s (rbi) official calendar. The RBI Classifies Holidays under the negotiable instruments act, with variations across states.

Customers are advised to consult the RBI’s State-Specific Holiday List to Confirm Closures.

Banks account the country will continue to follow the standard schedule, remaiing close on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, in addition to regional public holidays.

Key Regional Bank Holidays in July 2025

  • July 14: Banks in Meghalaya will be closed in observance of beh deinkhlam.
  • July 16: Uttarakhand Banks will remain shut for the harela festival.

Other upcoming holidays in July include observations for kharchi puja, guru hargobind ji’s birthday, and death anniversary of u tirot Singh, depending on the state.
