Patna. Preparations for Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 are in full swing and stirring for seat sharing in the Grand Alliance has intensified. The Communist Party of India (CPI) has filed a claim to contest more than 24 seats in Bihar. The party’s national general secretary D. Raja has demanded a meeting with the Grand Alliance Coordination Committee convenor and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav to discuss the seat sharing.
The CPI, which is part of the Grand Alliance, has claimed more than 24 seats, further aggressively, aggressively. CPI National General Secretary D. Raja said, “Our party lays a strong base in Bihar, especially between rural and working class. Our possibility of victory in these seats is strong and we will give a tough challenge to the NDA with the Grand Alliance.” He has demanded a soon meeting with Tejashwi Yadav, so that the shared agenda and seat sharing of the alliance can be finalized.
However, there are also challenges in the grand alliance regarding seat sharing. There are already reports of tussle between the RJD and the Congress over the number of seats. The RJD, which is the largest component of the Grand Alliance, wants to contest more than 150 seats, while the Congress is demanding 50-60 seats. CPI (Male) has also claimed 40-45 seats. In such a situation, the demand for more than 24 seats of the CPI can complicate the equation within the coalition. Political analysts believe that if the seat sharing is not agreed, then the Grand Alliance can be damaged, which can benefit the NDA.
The Election Commission is soon going to start the process of special intensive revision of voter list in Bihar, and election dates may be announced in September-October. This claim of CPI has brought a new turn in the politics of Bihar. Now it has to be seen that after the meeting of Tejashwi Yadav and D. Raja, the seat of the Grand Alliance goes in which direction and whether this coalition will be able to challenge the government’s double engine government.
