SitamarhiFor higher education, now not only government, but students of private institutions within the state will also be able to avail the student credit card scheme. Education Department, Bihar has lashed out in many conditions for private institutions in new instructions to be implemented from the session 2025-26. With this, students of dozens of colleges and institutions of Bihar including Sitamarhi, Motihari will be able to join this scheme for the first time. Till now, the benefits of this scheme were being given only by the students of those private institutions, who had the conditions like NAC or NBA recognition and NIRF rankings. The students of the colleges who did not have this recognition were deprived of applying.

The Nodal Officer of the Education Department has directed the DRCC of all the districts that applications of students of eligible institutions should be accepted as per the rules for the new session. Under the new system, private institutions which are located in Bihar and whose operations have been more than five years or two sessions, will now have to get the minimum ‘C’ grade or NBA recognized courses of NAC and the annual ranking of NIRF. It will be mandatory to apply on the portal of the Department of Education, which is less than five years.

Get AISHE code before next session
There are dozens of private colleges in Sitamarhi district, where students studying were earlier deprived of this scheme. Now they will also be able to apply in session 2025-26 and will be able to get loans at a cheaper rate for higher education. Institutions of nearby districts like Motihari, Shivhar, Muzaffarpur will also come under this purview. The Education Department has clarified that institutions which do not yet have an AISHE code, get it before the next session, so that there is no obstruction in the students’ application process. However, the department has also admitted that the students of Bihar studying in the institutions of outside states have to wait for six to seven months to receive the amount. This new system will immediately benefit thousands of students studying within Bihar. With this initiative of the Education Department, students of private colleges across Bihar, including Sitamarhi, will now be able to make the path of higher education easier by taking advantage of the Student Credit Card Scheme.
