Black Sun, White Heat: Dark Cinema for the Summer Season

Black Sun, White Heat: Dark Cinema for the Summer Season

Although there is not a summer nair in a strict sense, this silent film by German director FW Marnau is URTEXT for all precautions later about the temptation of classic summer summer. As it is written in the early entertainment: “Wherever the sun rises and sets in the open sky in the upheaval or farm, life is very similar; sometimes bitter, sometimes sweet.”

The film begins with a nameless woman in the city, who goes to rural areas for summer vacation. After a few weeks, she meets a married farmer and seduces him, whose boredom has dreamed of him a better life. Whereas on the edge of a lake, two lounges, women, now his mistress, suggests to the man to immerse his wife so that he can sell his farm and move towards the city. With many summer Noor films of the future, the body’s body serves as a place of moral suspension, deciduous daytime and physical danger. The man agrees and takes his unheard wife to a stunning boat ride. Their plot, however, fails in the middle of Jorni, and both at the end travel on a tram from the country to the city, where the man pleads for his wife’s forgiveness. Together, they stop the life of the city for a day and re -awaken their love. Then, on a trip to the country, suddenly the storm overtakes their boat, and the wife sinks. The man returns to the farm and in anger, tries to kill the mistress who is waiting for him. But the wife appears again, miraculously survived, and as soon as they grow in the sun’s country, they kiss.

After about a century, Sunrise There is a unique artwork of the silent era – a visual poem more than a film, as suggested in the title. While the black-and-white palette and chiroskurist shadowing expressions and all the nocturnal hallmarks of the traditional film Noir bears all of the Hallmark, the changing landscape of Murnau (from the city to the country, from the farm to the lake, from the lake, the day-night, the day-night, the sudden fog, the sudden fog, suddenly fog, suddenly fogstom). And while its story, the tone and pleasant ending finally begins as a summer assassination conspiracy in a humanistic metaphor, it changes, it should not be distracted by the deep prosecution of the dangers of the dangers of Murnau, especially those who make a mistake for a tourist for a house.
