Several former F1 drivers, including Jenson button, Mick Schumacher and Kevin Magnesen, are set to participate in the 24 -hour 2025 version of Le Mans.
The button and Magnesen will be one of the few marki names set to participate in the 2025 version of Le Mans (X).
As Formula 1 Padock is ready for Montreal for Canadian Grand Prix, many familiar faces of F1’s past 2025 are preparing for 24 hours Le Mans, being held from Saturday, June 14 to Sunday, 15 June.
This prestigious endurance race has been a platform for some memorable victory of current grid drivers. Nico Hulkenberg celebrated a win with Porsche in 2015, while Fernando Alonso won the back-to-back with Toyota in 2018 and 2019.
The most famous name from Formula 1 in this year’s Le Mans is Janson button, with the 2009 world champion Bron GP. At 45, the button is running in a 24-hour classic for the fourth time, yet in search of its first win on the 13.6 km circuit.
Another recent F1 racer, Kevin Magnesen, will be behind the wheel of the #15 BMW M Team WRT, marking its second appearance in Le Mans. This time, Magnesen worked in 2021 after her LMP2 class drive with Dris Vanithoor and Raffel Marsilo. The Danish driver finished his second term with Has in the previous season, now competing in other racing categories. During her broad Formula 1 career, Magnesen began in 185 Grands Prix between 2014 and 2024, with the best result of P2 for McLaren in the 2014 Australian Grand Prix.
Magnesen made a stunning comeback at Formula 1 after a year in 2022, partnered with Mick Schumacher in Has Has during the second year of German. However, in 2023, Schumacar’s two mid-season point Finnish was not enough to maintain his place on the F1 grid, inspired him to focus on the World Dheeraj Championship with Alpine. Schumacher, Frederick Makoviki and Jules Gaonen have won two podiums in 2025 along with teammates. Can they repeat the success in Le Mans as to what is yet to be seen.
Meanwhile, no former F1 drivers are competing in the LMGT3 category, but Rubens Barichelo’s son Eduardo Barichelo, ready to start his laryn.
In another interesting story, Valentino Rossi, Moto GP Legend, is making its second appearance in this endurance race. Known for his brilliant career on two wheels, Rossi rode with Lewis Hamilton in 2019 and also tested for Ferrari in 2006.
