Khandwa News: In many districts including Khandwa of Madhya Pradesh, the ghee of a special desi cow breed has become a topic of discussion nowadays. This ghee is being sold in the market from ₹ 2000 to ₹ 2500 per kg. It would be surprising to know that this ghee is made from the milk of the cow, which gives the least milk. The reason for this ghee being expensive is not only its quality, but also its historical, religious and scientific significance.

Which breed is this cow?

Desi breeds like cow’s fall, Sahiwal, Tharparkar or Kankrej are known by different names in different regions of India. Madhya Pradesh and Khandwa are especially the cows of Gir breed. These cows barely give 3 to 5 liters of milk throughout the day, while the cows of foreign breed gives 15 to 25 liters of milk. Still, the milk of the cow and ghee made from it is many times more expensive.

What is special in this ghee?
This ghee of desi cow is made exactly by traditional method. Which is called the “method of Bilona”. In this, yogurt is made from milk first. Then yogurt is removed by churning butter. Ghee is made by cooking that butter on low heat. This entire process is not only a time -consuming, but also has huge amount of milk. About 25-30 liters of milk is required to make 1 kg of desi ghee.

Hence expensive billon ghee

  • Production cost: Due to low milk production, more cows have to be covered, and hard work is more.
  • Traditional method: Ghee made of billion is more pure, nutritious and laborious than the ghee made of machine.
  • Medicinal properties: In Ayurveda, native cow’s ghee has been described as nectar. It balances vata, bile, phlegm. Increases digestive power and increases brain function.
  • Religious Importance: Rishi-Muni used to consume this ghee in olden times. It has special significance in Yajna, Havan and Puja, because it has the ability to cleanse the atmosphere.
  • What does scientific evidence say?
A2 protein is found in desi cow’s milk, which is very beneficial for human digestion. Milk of foreign breed cows contains A1 protein, which can sometimes cause allergies or stomach problems. This is the reason that the demand for A2 protein ghee is now increasing abroad. It is becoming an export product.
