Donald Trump has called for a huge decrease in US interest rates and asked if he could “appoint himself” in the Federal Reserve, the central bank a few hours before issuing its latest policy decision.

The US President said at the White House on Wednesday morning, “We should have two points less, it would be good to reduce two and a half points.” Trump said: “Are I allowed to appoint myself in the fed? I will do much better than these people.”

The latest Salvo against Fed and his lead J Powell, which he called “Stuid” on Wednesday, was expected to keep the interest rates stable at the end of their two -day meeting. Fed has cut 1 percent last year, but the rates have been kept stable in 2025 as they assess how Trim’s tariffs will affect inflation and development.

The US President has said that he will not take fire to Pavel, whose term will end in next May. The Supreme Court has indicated that it assumes that the Executive Branch does not have the legal right to fed governors.

Fed officials will later publish their latest forecasts for American development, inflation, employment and interest rates in the coming years on Wednesday. They are widely expected to reduce their quarterly estimates for growth and inflation.

In March, the US economy increased by 1.7 percent this year, growing unemployment by 4.4 percent and PCE inflation increased by 2.7 percent.

Fed officials have indicated that the news on the US tariff since then means that development and employment, and inflation, high, high, thought earlier this year.

In March, the rate-seater estimated the cost of cuts of a quarter points twice this year. Economists hope that the fed may stick well with those expectations, although there is a chance that the forecast for the cut can be cut off to just one this year.

Trump has repeatedly asked the fed to cut the cost of borrowing, with Powell “Mr. to Late” and a “Sunkul” labeled.
