Pune: The strength of the Indian Army is going to be more deadly now. Pune -based DRDO has prepared the ‘Advanced Tonal Artillery Gun System’ (ATAGS). It is not only included in the top cannons in the world in the range, but its firepower is going to be even more dangerous now. ATAGS is a 155 mm, 52 caliber modern cannon that DRDO has developed in association with private companies- Bharat Forge and Tata Advanced Systems. Its maximum firing range is up to 48 km, which brings it to the global top range gun systems.
Why is this atags special?
Director of this project R. According to P. Pandey, ATAGS Zone 7 can destroy the enemy for 48 kilometers with BMCS firing capability. It has a capacity to keep 25 shells, and is completely based on indigenous design.
Arde Pune Director A. Raju said that it is one of the best artillery guns in the world. He said that it is 75% indigenous and work is being done towards making the rest of it 100% indigenous.
