US President Donald Trump took a reflective turn on Thursday, which was talking timely during World War II. In a comment mixing history with surprise, Trump remembered the recent conversation with the French President Emmanuel Macron And Russian President Vladimir Putin – both of whom made a round on one of the biggest struggles in history.“Macron is a good man,” Trump started, before explaining how the French leader told him, “We are celebrating World War II and our victory.” Trump said he replied with a smile: “Your victory?” – A comment that seemed to play France’s role in the victory of the friendly countries, despite being one of the key members of the coalition.He then moved to Russia. Recalling the conversation with Putin, Trump said that the Russian President emphasized the huge sacrifice of the Soviet Union in the war. “Russia fought with us in WWII and everyone hates him,” Trump quoted Putin as saying that the USSR lost about 51 million people during the struggle. “And Germany and Japan, they are fine – someday someone will explain that,” Trump continued. “But I also like Germany and Japan. Everyone hates Russia and they love Germany and Japan … it’s a strange world.”Trump expressed confusion and disappointment as to what he sees as a decrease in the memory of America for his role in war. He said, “We won the Second World War and First World War, okay? We won them. And yet, we are the only countries that do not celebrate. Everyone is celebrating and we should celebrate,” he said.During World War II, the United States was a major force within the powers of the Allied Mitra countries, including the UK, the Soviet Union (successor – Russia) and France.
