Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Friday that Uttar Pradesh will become invincible on the path of development and prosperity when Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ganga Expressway by the end of this year.
Adityanath commented after inaugurating the 91.35-Mm Gorakhpur Link Expressway. He addressed meetings in Salarpur in Azamgarh and Bhagwanpur in Gorakhpur, which are two ends of the new expressway which join the Purvanchal Expressway.
Highlighting better connectivity in Uttar Pradesh, Adityanath said that this expressway will provide world class connectivity to Azamgarh as well as Ambedkar Nagar, Sant Kabir Nagar and Gorakhpur.
“Uttar Pradesh is identifying itself from an ‘Bimaru’ state to an expressway,” he said.
Today, there are 16 airports in the state, including four international and four-lane connectivity, which has taken Uttar Pradesh to new heights, he said.
After inaugurating the Gorakhpur Link Expressway in Salarpur, Yogi traveled to the route in one convoy and reached the second opening site in Bhagwanpur toll plaza in Gorakhpur.
During the journey, residents of nearby areas welcomed the national flag and welcomed them by raising slogans in their honor.
He said that this link expressway will not only connect Azamgarh with Gorakhpur, but will also give a new incentive to the entire priest (Eastern UP).
The Gorakhpur Link Expressway extends from Jatpur (near National Highway -27) to Salarpur in Azamgarh, where it connects with Purvanchal Expressway.
It has four districts- Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar and Azamgarh.
Gorakhpur Link Expressway has been constructed at one cost 7,283 crores.
Gorakhpur Link Expressway now, with functional, Uttar Pradesh has added its seventh operational expressway, marking an important step in its infrastructure journey. The state now commands 42% of India’s total access-nominated expressway network. Adityanath said that six of every 10 km expressway in the country will soon be located in Uttar Pradesh. Many other expressways are under construction or have obtained approval, strongly installed Uttar Pradesh as a major force on India’s infrastructure map and set up a platform for a new era of economic development and opportunities.
He said that in 2017, there were only one-and-a-half expressways in Uttar Pradesh (Yamuna Expressway and Agra-Lucano Expressway).
The Agra-Lucknow Express was incomplete and was completed by the double engine government (BJP at the center and in power in UP).
He said that now, the 340-Kilometer Purvanchal Expressway, 300 km Bundelkhand Expressway and 91-Km Gorakhpur Link Expressway have started among others, he said.
Six expressways are under construction, he said.
He said, “By the end of this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Ganga Expressway and the infrastructure will be so strong that no one will be able to stop Uttar Pradesh from being prosperous,” he said.
While hitting the opposition, he said that although the foundation stone of the Purvanchal Expressway was laid, even the land was not purchased during the tenure of the previous government. They wanted to construct 110 meter Wide Expressway 15,200 crores, we made it 120 meters wide and made for it 11,800 crores. He said that the public understands who must have looted the remaining money.
Addressing a gathering in Bhagwanpur, he said that the pace of development of infrastructure directly follows the progress and prosperity of fuel. He commented that true and widespread development is possible only when the infrastructure moves with the needs and aspirations of the people.
Considering global examples, the Chief Minister said that a lot of their success is given to developed nations for strong infrastructure systems. In a similar vein, Uttar Pradesh has made a major change since 2017, which has long been moving away from the ‘Bimaru’ tag and re -establishing itself as a leader among the Indian states.
He credited this change for a strong focus on the infrastructure under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has also helped the state to free from crime, mafia and riots, it has kept it as a growing center for tourism and investment.
“Earlier, roads in the state were full of pits. Today, our expressway network is accelerating the state’s economy,” he said.
He insisted that a safe and stable environment is an essential basis to attract economic growth and investment. In the last eight years, the expansion of the expressway has formulated the basis for industrial development across the state. Gorakhpur Link Expressway, he said, South will play an important role in increasing Gorakhpur and beyond industrial development.
Looking at the future, the Chief Minister said that with major projects like Ganga Expressway, new industrial groups will soon benefit in every district of Uttar Pradesh. These hubs will encourage the development of micro, small and medium enterprises, while also supporting agriculture and fisheries-based economic activity.
To ensure safety and sharp response with the expressway, the Chief Minister flagged off a security fleet deployed by UPEIDA, including innovas, camper, ambulances, cranes and a hydra vehicle. He also visited a photo exhibition installed by UPEIDA at toll plaza and interacted with workers of the firm APCO Infratech, responsible for the project package -1. With construction workers, he appreciated for his hard work.
Yogi planted a Harishankari sapping – Peepal, Banyan and Pakad trees near Bhagwanpur toll plaza. This Act, he said, represents the state’s commitment to permanent development.
