Flexport founder and CEO has criticized India’s bureaucracy challenges, claiming that it has been easier to trade in excessive paperwork than other countries. Ryan Peterson claimed that he had to enter more “useless paperwork” in India than all other countries.
Flexport is an American multinational corporation focused on logistics and supply chain management. Headquarters in San franciscoThe USA, it operates in more than 89 countries and has offices in Amsterdam, Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

On 1 July, Flexport CEO Ryan Peterson responded to an X post by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is a “historical reform that has re -shaped India’s economic landscape.”
PM Modi said that GST has “improved a lot ease of doing business, For small and medium enterprises by reducing compliance burden.
The CEO of Flexport demanded to combat these claims with his personal experience of establishing a business in India.
Peterson wrote, “I have to do more useless paperwork for my unit in India than all other countries in India.”
How Indians reacted to post
The post proved to be an estimated polarization on social media, where some supported the American CEO and others accused him of tarnishing India’s image.
“I am a citizen and I agree with it, there is some unrealistic passion with paperwork in India,” wrote an X user in the comment section.
