Former Australia’s great Greg Chappell praised Rishabh Pant and said that he was re -establishing the game as a batsman.

Former Australian cricketer Greg Chappell appreciated India’s wicketkeeper-baater Rishabh Pant, saying that he was reinforcing the game. The impressive innings of the pants, headingley, was characterized by some magnificent strokeplays during the first test against England, shocked by fans.
27-year-old scripted history as the first wicketkeeper-better to score for centuries in both innings of a Test match. He also left MS Dhoni behind to record the most test centuries by an Indian wicketkeeper. The brilliant knock of the pants highly praised him with Greg Chappell, who said that the youth is re -defining the art of batting in modern Test cricket.
“When I first saw him, he reminded me of Adam Gilchrist … a different kind of player, of course, but … This difference can be for a team when a wicketkeeper can bat at that level and run quickly,” Chappell said during a promotional program organized by Str8Bat here on Wednesday.
“The beauty is that Rishabh runs very fast, which gives you time to win a cricket match. It was an unprecedented performance. Some shots he played was not in the MCC playing manual.”
“He is really strengthening the game as a batsman. With modern technology, bats are very different and you can play shots that were not possible with old bats. He is exciting to see,” Chapel said.
Pant was also part of some important partnership in both the innings of the headingley Test – first with captain Shubman Gill and later with KL Rahul. He added 209 runs for the fourth wicket with Gill in the first innings, scoring a brilliant 134 in 178 delivery, including 12 fours and six sixes.
Unfortunately, India lost the Test match for England despite scoring 371 runs in the fourth innings. With a win, England took a 1-0 lead in the five-match Test series.
