Former MMA and Wrestling Champion Ben ascraine A double lung transplant has been found, his wife shared on social media.
40 -year -old Oscrain has been hospitalized in his home state of Wisconsin throughout the month, due to severe pneumonia. His wife, Amy, shared updates during her recovery and thanked the latest on Monday.
“We are very grateful to share that Ben has received a double lung implant,” Amy wrote on Facebook. “We are grateful to the donor and his family forever. It is a new lifestyle beginning for Ben, but every new day has a gift. It still doesn’t feel real that he was just a completely healthy walking around five weeks ago. Can change so quickly. In the coming weeks, Ben will be able to give the next update.”
According to Amy’s posts, Askraine was placed on the donor list on 24 June. Till 17 June, he was on ventilator support.
Oscrain fought the career of his entire professional battle with Hartland, Wisconsin, and runs a wrestling academy in the region. He retired from MMA in 2019 and was also a twice in wrestling NCAA Division I Champion and a 2008 American Olympic team. He held MMA titles in several organizations and appeared in the UFC at the end of his career. He and Amy have three children together.
