Police said Noida, 14 June (PTI) four people were arrested here on Saturday in the murder of Money Changer.
The arrested accused have been identified as Mukul Sharma (25), Akash Upadhyay (24), Ajay Sharma (48) and Aryan Yadav (25).
Mukul is a resident of Vasundhara in Ghaziabad, while Akash is from Mahoba, but has been living in Noida for some time.
According to Noida police, Mukul and Akash killed Money Changer, Ompal Bhati on June 11, in which Mukul’s father was in a conspiracy by Ajay’s father Ajay. After committing the crime, Arya is allegedly responsible for giving shelter to both.
Police have recovered Rs 10.3 lakh and two pistols, empty and live cartridges, a motorcycle and two bags of two mobile phones.
Sharing details about the crime, Noida Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Yamuna Prasad said that Mukul and Akash first searched for a money changer, who could easily agree to exchange foreign currency for Indian rupees.
During his discovery, he made zero at the Bhati shop in Sector 18.
Both of them then called him to a residence, which he recently rented him, on the pretext that he needed a Canadian currency, which was equal to about 7 lakh rupees.
To explain the nephew, Akash withdrew about 3 lakh rupees from his bank account and kept it with him, the DCP said.
He said, “When the shopkeepers reached home, the two accused snatched a bag containing foreign exchange from Ompal Bhati at the tip of the gun. But when Ompal objected and protested, they were shot by the accused. After that, both the accused ran away from the spot,” he said.
After committing the crime, both the accused approached Ajay. Police said that they were suggested to go to Aryan’s house in Delhi to avoid arrest. PTI Core AMJ AMJ AMJ
