When you start a Gemini live session, a caption button now appears in the top-right corner. Tapping it brings a floating box that shows a text version of Gemini’s spoken reactions. The caption appears in the middle of the screen and fixed in the place. They do not show what you are saying in real time, but this transcript can still be found at the end of the session.
The captions only appear when you are using a full-screen live interface. If you exit the screen during a session, the caption disappears, but if you enter again before the session ends, they will come back. Once capable, the caption setting is active for future interaction, so you do not need to turn it on every time.
A new ‘caption preferences’ menu has also been added to Gemini’s settings. It is located under the ‘Interpt Live Response’ togle and links to system-level caption settings. This gives users a little more control over how the captions appear.

Prior to this update, Gemini Live required the amount of phone at a certain level. If your quantity was very low, you could not start the conversation. The Seema has now gone. You can speak loudly to your prompt and simply read the answer, which can be helpful in cool places or when you do not have a headphone.
The idea behind Mithun Live is to create a more natural voice interaction with AI, but clearly there are situations where a spoken response is not ideal. Whether you are in a quiet room or just like to read when listening, the new caption option gives users more flexibility.
This update may not seem prominent, but it addresses the boundary of a real world. This indicates that Google has continued to adjust Gemini Live, depending on how Google actually uses it. If you haven’t yet seen the feature, the force-stop of the Google app in your phone settings can help trigger updates.
In my opinion it is a practical change that improves the purpose. Gemini Live still has space to grow, but such small updates make it more convenient and accessible in everyday use.
