When we expect Google to launch the Pixel 10 series, we are out of less than two months, and tomorrow, we have seen one of the most important leaks so far. Android headlines Published “Official” specification for Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XLAnd assuming that they are accurate, they paint a worrying picture for this year’s Pro Pixel phone.
It is not that the specs are bad, per per, but they are almost similar to the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. Performance specifications remain unchanged, the cameras are similar to last year’s phones, and RAM is also untouched. There is a slight increase in the battery capacity (~ 100mAh more) for each phone, and the Pixel 10 Pro XL now starts from 128GB to 256GB storage.
If this is true, it means that the biggest difference between Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro will be chipset. Google’s tensor G5 is expected to be a significant release, and if it is as good as we think it can happen, the rest of the imagination sheet cannot be so much. But if this year’s tenser chip is not a complete success, we can see one of the most weak pixel release in years.
Do you think how important is Tensor G5 Pixel 10 Pro?

A fantasy pixel 10 Pro can be made or broken

What is the big deal with Tensor G5? Many reports strongly suggest that this will happen First tensor chip manufactured by TSMC Instead of the Samsung Foundry, and if it happens, it can solve Google’s largest and longest running tensor pain points.
It is no secret that Google has long struggled with its tenser chips, especially with battery efficiency and thermal management. Whether we are talking about Pixel 6 or latest Pixel 9, Google’s Pixel phone almost always has battery life and thermal performance, compared to competitive phones with Qualcomm and MediaTek chips. This is no longer pressure on any issue compared to the early days of the tensor, but still it is still a problem.
While the chip design of Google definitely plays a role here, the Chips of the Samsung Foundry continuously perform worse than the TSMC-made people. So, with a TSMC-built tensor G5 in the Pixel 10 series, Google has a pixel phone that is eventually free from battery and thermal crises, it is unable to escape to this point. And if this happens, This can be one of the most important upgrades for Google’s smartphone yet,
But it has an important word: If it happens.

At this point, it is safe to assume that Tensor G5 will be made my TSMC; We have seen enough reports and heard from enough sources that it has been given one. Great. But even if we can rely on TSMC on this year’s chipset foundry, it does not automatically guarantee that the Tensor G5 tenser will be the savior of the chips We like to think that it will happen,
It is true that TSMC historically produces better silicon than Samsung, and while the results should be free from the G5 battery and thermal throttleing issues, we should also accept that the challenges involved with changing the chipset foundry. This is a big step for Google, and while it should eventually be one for better, it is also innocent to think that it will be a completely spontaneous transition.
There is a lot of landscape in which tensor G5 is not the chip we want, does it mean that it is a small car and uncontrolled mess, or it does not distribute night and day efficiency upgradation, we think it will happen. This should be, Google has nothing else for the Pixel 10 Pro series.
There is a lot of landscape in which tensor G5 is not the chip we want.
Nothing more about the leaked species sheet, the Pixel 10 Pro or Pixel 10 Pro suggests exciting hardware for the 10 Pro XL. If Tensor G5 does not need incredible, omnipotent chip Google, what is this? Two phones that are recurrence of their predecessors, simply with a new chip that does not carry forward the needle. Who would like to buy?
With this approach, the success of Pixel 10 Pro rests on the success of Tenser G5, and it is a strategy that leaves very little space for error.
I hope Google knows what it is doing

As my colleague C. Scott Brown said, what Google is doing here, there may be a good explanation for this. With the first TSMC-manufactured tensor chip of Tensor G5, Google may expect that a new foundry will have some increasing pain with its inaugural chip. Reusing the Pixel 10 Pro for the Pixel 10 Pro, reusing the Pixel 9 Pro components, the Google Pixel 10 Pro can make relatively safe and cheap and get it in the hands of the people, with the sole purpose of seeing how the Tensor G5 performs in the wild.
Google must realize that these specifications for its two new Pro phones are not particularly exciting, and perhaps it is. Maybe Google wants to fully focus on the chip, so whether it is incredible or a disaster, Google may indicate whether it is right or what went wrong and use it to create a better pixel 11 Pro next year. From a test point of view, there is an argument for that approach, but I am not sure how you should buy people in the market because they should buy them.

As a person who is important for a long time for Google’s tenser chips, I can’t wait to see how the tensor G5 shakes. But at the same time, I am worried about the phone around it.
Is most of the Pixel 10 Pro unchanged because Google has so much confidence in the G5, or because it wants to identify problems more easily. If/when something goes wrong, the result will be the same. Either the tensor G5 is fantastic and the Pixel 10 Pro takes us with the tensor silicon that we are waiting for, or on the spec sheet for the G5, nothing to show, except Google with a very hard-smartphone, to show.
It is a dangerous game playing with Google Pixel 10 Pro, and I hope it works.
