
Voters in Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse are going to elections to choose a new MSP.
A by -election is being held after SNP’s death of Christina McKelvi.
Elections open at 07:00 and close at 22:00, resulting in expected in the early hours of Friday morning.
What is in the first Scottish Parliament by -election since 2019, the parties are aiming to create speed before next year’s Holiroad elections.

there are 10 candidates are electing by -electionsthey are:

- Andy Brady – Scottish Family Party
- Ross Lambi – Reformation UK
- Katy Loudon – SNP
- Jennis McKay – UK Independence Party
- N McGinness – Scottish Green Party
- Aisha Mir – Scottish Liberal Democrat
- Richard Nelson – Scottish conservative
- Davi Russell – Scottish Labor
- Mark Wilkinson – independent
Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonhouse were organized by McKelvi since the construction of the constituency in 2011.
SNP MSP acted in several government roles, later as the Minister of Drugs and Alcohol.
He Death at the age of 57 in March After diagnosing secondary breast cancer.
The new MSP will be for less than a year only one year before the Scottish Parliament elections scheduled for May 2026.

Elections in the by-elections will be the first-past-post polling, which means that the most vote candidate will become the new MSP of the constituency.
Voters do not require ID to cast their ballots.
The South Lanarkshire Council has advised those polling by post that if they have not sent their voting in a good time to come till 22:00, they can hand over them to a polling station.
