The Hungarian police on Thursday banned the country’s main pride from being in Budapest on 28 June, but the capital’s mayor vowed to organize it despite contradiction.

In mid -March, the Hungarian Parliament passed a bill with the aim of banning any gathering violating the LGBTQ law adopted in 2021.

In his judgment published on Thursday, the police said that March “by nature the LGBTQ could not be held without representation of people belonging to the community” and that may be present along the under -18 route.
“If it cannot be said with complete certainty that the performance is not happening in the presence of persons under 18 years of age, then the assembly will be in violation of the government’s prohibition,” the police said.
In April, Hungary MPs supported constitutional changes, which strengthened the legal foundation to ban Gaurav March.

The struggle on Pride March has already staged a protest in Hungary.
Thousands of people in the capital blocked the bridges, demanding the cancellation of the pride ban law. Many European Union MPs have said that they will participate in the parade.
