I recommend these 5 weather apps, but I have a favorite

Ryan Hens / Android Authority

It is safe to say that more or less every Android user has a weather app installed On their phoneI definitely do, and I use it daily to check for daily weather, not only for today but also for the rest of the week – this is part of my morning routine.

In my search for the right weather app, I tried countless options and can tell you that there are significant differences between them. Some were loaded with advertisements and pop-ups, while others were poorly designed. Then there were those who were not very accurate for my place, and anything managed to bundle all these issues in one. After all, I have some weather apps that I really like and now I can recommend others. Here are my top five.

Which of these weather apps do you like?

Pixel weather

This is my favorite so far, but it is PixelSo this is not something that everyone can download and use. I have not seen any advertisement in the app – at least for now – and the design is beautiful. Whatever information I needs on a page include an hour report and a 10-day forecast.

I can also see how much rain (if any) is expected during the day, air speed and direction, UV index, air quality and more. Most of this data are useful to me, and I can customize its arrangement on the screen, giving less interesting information at the bottom.

Then there is a weather map. It works, but it is probably my lowest favorite aspect of this app. This is not as accurate or good that I have tried to use some other people, so I do not use it as much as I would like. Whenever I need to check the weather map, I switch to the next app on this list.

Weather and radar

This app is perfect. While this provides most of the data required to me, the user interface may use a little polish. The entire app scattered a lot of advertisements, and includes a news section that shows the news of weather for places far away from me.

However, I still use it for an important reason: weather map. After trying a crowd of apps, it works best for my location. I can see properly when it rained, and more importantly, if Ola is coming. We achieve too much hailstorm during the summer months, and I always need to be cautious to ensure that I park my car in the garage on time, as hail can cause severe damage.

It is also very good for ice, as I can check the approximate time and the amount of snowfall, or when the heavy snow that is preventing me from going out, will stop.

Today’s weather

I used this app before switching to the pixel weather and was really fond of it. It is very beautiful – a pop of color with simple and clean, subtle animation and to give it life.

I especially prefer image at the top, which shows what the sky looks at a specific location. I then need all weather details, some of which are well presented in gray sections, including information such as humidity, visibility and UV index.

There are a per hour and weekly forecast, air quality information, a decent season radar, and all other details that you will expect from an app in this way. It has an advertising section, but is well integrated in advertising design, so they are not equally unpleasant with some contestants. In addition, outside the pixel weather and some others, it is difficult to find a free app that does not have advertisements.

Today’s weather is not quite simple, but still straight with a great design. I used it a little bit and preferred to look at all the main data required on a screen, although I needed an additional tap to get specific information like UV index.

I actually appreciate animation for temperature, and the weather radar is decent. I also like that an additional tap is required to watch features like news and video, so they do not clutter the main screen like some other apps.

There are also important information that appears at the top of the app, which warns users of excessive heat, heavy rainfall and similar situations in the region. The app is free, and I have not encountered any advertisement with it during my time, but a premium version is available that provides more detailed weather data.

This app is slightly different as it keeps the weather map in front and center. You can switch it to rain or other data with only one tap or two by showing the temperature quickly. The bottom of the screen has a quick weather forecast that also shows how the weather on the radar will change when you switch between days or hours. This is very clear.

Of course, the app also has all the standard features for full weather reports, potential rainfall, air speed, and more. However, you usually get more data with rival apps, so it is actually for those who enjoy looking at the map of the wide weather.

The app is free, but a premium version is available. However, it does not offer much more than the free version, so I would recommend sticking with free options.

These are the top five weather apps that I have used and enjoyed, although there are many people I have not tested yet. Tell me what people you use and why in comments.
