New Delhi, June 7 (PTI) five individuals received a new lease of life after transplanting a new patient’s organs with a multi-face in different parts of the country, with a kidney and a cornea aircraft from Bangalore to Delhi by an Indian Air Force aircraft.
In a post on the Indian Air Force (IAF), X, shared the details of the coordinated operations and photographs of the airlift on Saturday.
The post said, “IAF today enabled life-saving multi-organization restoring and significant transplants at various places made through Command Hospital Air Force Bangalore (Chafb),” said by the post.
The donor on Friday declared the brain dead, “became the source of new life for five persons”, the couple.
According to the IAF, a kidney and a cornea were flown to the Army Hospital (Research and Referral) in Delhi. Other kidney and cornea, as well as the first skin crop, was transplanted from Victoria Hospital in Bangalore in collaboration with a medical team.
Liver was successfully implanted at the Glengals BGS Hospital, it said.
The IAF said in the post, “This uninterrupted operation was executed with Jeevansarnakate Karnataka, reflecting the extraordinary commitment and medical expertise of the medical community of the armed forces.” PTI Knd Oz Oz
