“Nobody wants to deal with people whom they do not trust. Nobody wants to sign international agreements with a country that is a government that is saying, well, ‘We can follow it, we cannot do it’.

“We do. We are successful. We secure business deals that are necessary to improve people’s lives in this country.

“We secure deals on migration with Iraq, with Germany, with Germany, which are going to deal with some other fundamental problems facing us, and we can do so because we follow, and we really comply on issues of international law and really lead.

“As a good faith player in international law, it is heavy in the national interests of this country.”

Speaking more about the UK relations with the US, Hermer said: “This is a relationship that will not doubt different points, involves various various pressures, but it is absolutely important to us.
