Israeli airstrikes kill 34 in Gaza: Trump eyes truce ‘within a week’; UN aid looted

According to health officials, 34 people were killed in Gaza in the Israeli air strike. The attacks started late Friday and continued till Saturday morning. The dead included 12 people killed at the Palestine Stadium in the city of Gaza, where the bodies were taken, according to Shifa Hospital staff. The hospital reported that six other people were killed in Southern Gaza when there was a strike in their tent in Mavasi.

Attacks come as US President Donald Trump Said that there may be a ceasefire agreement within next week. Speaking to reporters at the Oval Office on Friday, he said, “We are working on Gaza and trying to take care of it.”Israel’s strategic affairs minister, Ron Dermer, is expected to reach Washington next week to negotiate Gaza’s ceasefire, as reported by news agency AP.In March, Israel has been in talks since the latest ceasefire broke and its military operation in Gaza has continued.According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, the war has so far killed over 56,000 Palestinians, which states that more than half are dead women and children.Families of Israeli hostages hopes that Trump’s role in achieving the ceasefire between Israeli and Iran will increase the pressure for a deal in Gaza.
